Kylian Mbappe to Arsenal transfer frenzy as USMNT star sparks theory

Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is in high-demand this summer after a hugely impressive season with Stade Reims in France.

The forward scored 21 goals in Ligue 1 last term, more than Wissam Ben Yedder, Neymar and Lionel Messi. His achievements in Europe read better when you consider he also netted more than Arsenal strikers Gabriel Jesus (11) and Eddie Nketiah (9) put together.

But Balogun now faces an important few weeks. There's a growing list of suitors interested in permanently signing him this summer, with Arteta to continue placing his faith in Jesus and Nketiah next season.

Kai Havertz’s imminent £65 million signing from Chelsea will push him further down the pecking order in north London, meaning he is likely to be sold. The 21 year-old has already confirmed that he won't be leaving on loan again, with the Gunners slapping a £35m price tag on the striker

AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli, Crystal Palace and West Ham are all said to be amongst those keen on signing the USMNT star. With pre-season round the corner, it remains to be seen whether Balogun will be involved in the Gunners' trip to the United States.

Yet, despite all the interest linking him with a move away from Arsenal, supporters have been left excited by Balogun's social media activity. The New York-born star posted an Instagram story of himself and Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe and fans were quick to suggest he was playing 'Agent Balogun'.

Flo Balogun has sparked excitement amongst Arsenal supporters after posting an image with Kylian Mbappe (Instagram)

The future of Mbappe remains in doubt after he informed PSG that he would not be taking up the option to extend his contract at the Parc des Princes. If fresh terms aren't agreed in the next 12 months, he will be available on a free transfer.
