Kylian Mbappe reveals PSG transfer stance amid Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham links

Kylian Mbappe has revealed that he had never asked to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the upcoming January transfer window. The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer but, after penning a new deal with the French giants, a move looked to be off the cards.

Just months later, Mbappe seemingly had a change of heart. According to Marca, the France international wanted to leave the Parisians in the upcoming transfer window after feeling as if he had been betrayed by the club amid a handful of broken promises.

Despite having looked destined to arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu, the report states that he had no interest in joining Los Blancos, leaving the door wide open for the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotpsur to try their luck. But, following PSG's win with over Marseille, Mbappe downplayed speculation that he's eyeing a departure.

Speaking to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, the Frenchman said: "I have never asked for a departure in January. That’s completely false."

While the Blues haven't been directly credited with interest, the club have come close to signing Mbappe before. Ten years ago, he and his family were brought to England where he spent a week at Cobham training ground with the Chelsea under-12s.

At which time, the likes of Tammy Abraham and Jeremie Boga walked the corridors. A move ultimately fell through and the west Londoners lost sight of a player who would go on to become one of the world's best.

Singing from the same hymn sheet, PSG sporting director Luis Campos also denied claims that Mbappe asked to leave. Speaking to Canal+, he said: "I am here to clearly deny, he [Mbappé] did not speak to me or to my president about leaving in January. This question never came up and we never talked about it. There are rumours every day, and we can't talk about them every day."

France national team boss Didier Deschamps has put out a cryptic transfer hint of his own, claiming that some reports are far from the truth.

He told RMC Sport: "Kylian is Kylian, by what he does on the field and what he can do outside too. We talk a lot about him. It’s not a negative thing to say, given what he does, it’s logical that we talk about him. Unfortunately, in these times, there are many people who think they have the truth. But it is far from reality."
