Paris Saint-Germain defender Abdou Diallo has admitted that Kylian Mbappe thinks that Cristiano Ronaldo is well clear of Lionel Messi in the age-old debate between the pair.
Mbappe is set to face Messi's Argentina the Lusail Stadium in Sunday's World Cup final as France look to win their second successive World Cup, after beating Croatia in the 2018 final in Russia. Having scored that day to help France to another major success, Mbappe will be looking to repeat the trick against the South Americans.
However, Messi's side come into the game off the back of five straight victories including a 3-0 win over Croatia on Tuesday evening and are determined to all the way.
But the debate over the past week has been mainly centred surrounding Ronaldo and Messi, rather than Mbappe's involvement in the conversation.
The duo have been battling it out for honours and trophies over the past two decades but a World Cup win for Messi could finally end the debate. Mbappe, however, thinks that Ronaldo is the greatest of his generation, rather than Messi, according to teammate Diallo, who is currently on loan at RB Leipzig, who has been speaking about the Frenchman.
He said, via the Mail : "Cristiano Ronaldo is literally everything to Kylian Mbappe.
"If you mention Lionel Messi against Cristiano, Mbappe will debate with you for at least an hour. For him, Cristiano is untouchable."
Interestingly, these comments from Diallo come with Messi and Mbappe club teammates at PSG and it looks like it will stay that way until at least the end of the season. Messi has been linked with a move away from Paris with Inter Miami interested in his services, while Real Madrid continued to be linked with Mbappe's services.

All the focus is on their national team's ahead of the week, though, and some of Mbappe's France teammates have been questioned on who the better player is between him and Messi.
"For me it’s Kylian," Aurelien Tchouameni admitted following France’s 2-0 win over Morocco in the semi final on Wednesday evening. "For me it’s Mbappe and I want him to prove that in the next game."
Antoine Griezmann added: "Any team with Messi in is a totally different proposition. We have seen practically all of their matches at this World Cup. We have seen Argentina play, we know how they play.
"They are a difficult team to play and they seem to be on top form. Of course, not only Messi, they have a strong side around him so we know it is going to be a tough game and they will have a lot of support in the crowd."
