Kyler Murray’s return to play will be determined by Jonathan Gannon

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is working hard in the offseason rehabbing his surgically repaired knee following ACL surgery in January.

He tore his ACL in December against the New England Patriots.

One of the big questions of the offseason is when he will return and be able to play. He is expected to miss some games to start the season potentially.

There is no timeline yet for Murray’s return to the field but, according to NFL Media’s Steve Wyche, head coach Jonathan Gannon will make the call.

“It will ultimately be the coach’s call when Murray returns to the field in order to protect him both physically and mentally,” Wyche wrote.

Murray is making progress in his rehab.

“He was in Dallas with his surgeon this last week, and he’s doing well,” Gannon told Wyche at the annual league meeting over the weekend. “They like where he’s at. He’s going to start doing some things in the strength room. He’s coming along well.”

The Cardinals begin their offseason program April 11.
