The NFLPA tracks which players in the NFL are the most popular in terms of licensed merchandise. It released its top 50 player sales list, ranking the 50 players in terms of officially licensed merchandise in their names, based on sales from March 2021 through February 2022.
The Arizona Cardinals had only one player make the top 50. Unsurprisingly, that is quarterback Kyler Murray.
Not only is Murray in the top 50, he is in the top 25, coming in at No. 24 overall.
Murray has become one of the more popular players in the league and it also shows in his rankings jump. He saw one of the largest rankings jumps in the league.
Six players saw major leaps in sales from preseason to year-end rankings, highlighted by a pair of defensive stars: T.J. Watt jumped 24 spots (No. 36 to No. 12) and Aaron Donald 23 spots (No. 37 to No. 14). Nick Chubb soared 16 spots, while both Kyler Murray and Derrick Henry went up 14 spots to round out the biggest gains start to finish.
With a large contact extension expected this offseason, if he takes another step forward in his performance on the field, he is the type of player, despite playing in a relatively small NFL market, to jump into the top 10 by next year.
