For most players, it would be the biggest battle of their lives to make the World Cup - but Kyle Walker's tough upbringing has shaped his life and character which means nothing in football will ever faze or intimidate him.
Walker saw it all as a teenager growing up on the Lansdowne Estate in Sharrow, Yorkshire, and it means that an attitude of never being beaten is written into his DNA.
Manchester City defender Walker said: “That’s just been my life. Your path is written out for you and what will be will be. I think it has moulded me into who I am as a person and I think your path is written out for you to experience certain things in life and I’ve had to go through and certain setbacks, certain doubts and highs as well which I have achieved at Manchester City.
