Kyle Walker camera battle and other moments missed in Man City win vs Leeds

Manchester City made their return to Premier League action a winning one on Wednesday as they saw off Leeds United 3-1 at Elland Road.

City's first league assignment in 56 days came against a potentially tricky opponent, but a brace from Erling Haaland and a close-range Rodri strike allowed City to secure all three points. The victory meant Pep Guardiola's side leapfrogged Newcastle into second place in the table and closed the gap between themselves and league leaders Arsenal to five points.

While Haaland's record-breaking goals deservedly stole the headlines, there were some other interesting moments that you might have missed.

Touchline battle

Usually touchline clashes involve managers and coaching staff, but that wasn't the case at Elland Road. While Guardiola and Jesse Marsch concerned themselves with the efforts of their respective teams, Kyle Walker had a run-in with a camera.

Amazon Prime Video - broadcasting the match in the UK - took the unorthodox decision to mount a camera on the dugout in order to keep tabs on Guardiola's often entertaining mid-game antics. However, what they didn't bargain for was Walker yanking the camera off its mount and dropping it on the floor because it was impeding his space on the bench.

The camera was replaced at half-time, and after giving viewers at home an extreme close-up of his head, Walker seemed happy to leave it in place.

Rodri loves a celebration

Almost exactly one year on from his dramatic late winner at Arsenal and his more-than-provocative goal celebration, Rodri scored and once again celebrated in-front of the home fans.

The Spaniard fist-pumped the air and slid to his knees in front of the irritated Leeds fans, although the fact this goal didn't come deep into injury-time probably saved him from having more bottles chucked at him.

KDB helping Lewis

It was surprising to see Rico Lewis make his full Premier League debut, although there was nothing surprising about his performance.

As he was against Liverpool last week, the 18-year-old was excellent. On paper he played at right-back, but in reality he tucked into midfield in Rodri and helped to control the game in a way only a player with exceptional tactical and positional understanding can do.

Of course, he still has a lot to learn though, and his more senior teammates appear keen to help him along the way. At one point in the first half Kevin de Bruyne looked to drive the ball forward, and he pointed to where he wanted Lewis to make a supporting run.

The move didn't go anywhere, but it showed the willingness of City's stars to help the next generation learn on the job.
