Kyle Petty, as the son of famous NASCAR driver Richard Petty and hugely successful in his own right, has pulled a Jerry Seinfeld and created a TV show that allows him to interview some of his favorite athletes and musicians.
Called "Dinner Drive With Kyle Petty," the show is basically a play off Seinfeld's "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee." Petty takes his celebrity subject on a ride in a style of car that has sentimental value to them, then then they eat a meal at said celebrity's favorite eatery. The second season is airing on country-oriented cable station Circle TV and is available on demand on many platforms.
He has naturally mined the racing world with Jeff Gordon coming up this Thursday. He previously talked to the likes of Dale Earnhardt Jr., Darrell Waltrip and Mario Andretti. He has also broken bread with heroes country star Darius Rucker, golfer Davis Love II, musician John Oates, gymnast Shawn Johnson and folk-rock band the Avett Brothers.
