There’s growing belief that Georgia will lose a commitment from five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola, the No. 1 ranked prospect in the 2024 class.
247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong projected Raiola to flip to Nebraska earlier this week. Raiola’s father, Dominic Raiola, played center for the Cornhuskers, while his uncle, Donovan Raiola, serves as offensive line coach in Lincoln.
A report on Wednesday by On3 Sports’ Pete Nakos has only made the prediction even more believable.
Nakos reports that Ohio State transfer quarterback Kyle McCord is not transferring to Nebraska as previously expected, opening the door even wider for Raiola to take the reigns immediately if a flip does occur.
Raiola transferred to in-state Buford High School this fall and led the Wolves to an 11-2 record.
Raiola is reportedly visiting Nebraska this week.
The good news for Georgia is if Raiola decommits, the Bulldogs still have a top-10 passer coming to Athens in the 2024 class in four-star Ryan Puglisi.
Puglisi (Avon, CT) is rated as the No. 10 quarterback and the No. 134 player overall in the class, per 247Sports.
This situation puts even more weight on the return of junior quarterback Carson Beck, who has yet to make an NFL decision to date.
