Kuwait sent on Tuesday the second batch of humanitarian aid to Ukrainian refugees.

A plane carrying 40 tons of food and medical aid left Kuwait’s Abdullah al-Mubarak Air Base to Bucharest, Romania.

Vice chairman of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Organization Anwar al-Hasawi said the aid comes in line with the directives of Emir Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah to help the Ukrainian people during the current humanitarian crisis.

He said the aid was sent in coordination with the Kuwaiti Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense.

The Organization is keen to take part in the humanitarian efforts to provide help for Ukrainian refugees in countries neighboring Ukraine, Hasawi explained.

He pointed to the full coordination with the Kuwaiti Embassy in Romania and the Romanian Red Cross to deliver aid to the refugees, hailing all efforts to make the mission of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent a success at all levels.

“Kuwait has always been at the forefront of countries providing humanitarian and development aid,” he noted.

Hasawi further stressed that the humanitarian responsibility requires redoubling efforts to provide more support to help those affected by the world’s current crises.
