Kurnool police registers 596 wrong route driving cases in just a week under special drive

TIRUPATI: The Kurnool district police wing has booked as many as 596 wrong route driving cases against various persons as part of a special drive underway in the district during the last one week.

Following the directions from the Kurnool district SP Siddharth Kaushal IPS, the district police wing has embarked on a special drive to effectively bring down the number of road mishap in the district.

According to the district police the following cases were registered as part of the special drive during the last one week.

42 cases have been booked against those driving without drivers licenses, 257 cases against those driving without a helmet, 51 cases against those who used their mobile phones while driving, 572 over speeding cases etc.

The district police wing added that out of the 5.96 lakh pending e-challans, recovery to the tune of Rs. 10.13 lakh with regards to 3540 e-challans was completed during the special drive.
