Kulusevski for Son and five changes Antonio Conte could make to Tottenham team vs Sporting CP

Antonio Conte has a rotation decision to make ahead of Tuesday evening's Champions League clash against Sporting CP. Having not had a game last weekend following the Premier League's decision to postpone the round of fixtures, the boss could quite easily name the team he started with at home to Marseille six days ago.

On the other hand, he may want to make a few alterations here and there with Saturday's home match against Leicester City in mind. So who could drop out of the Tottenham team in Portugal and who could come in and replace them? football.london takes a look at some potential changes.

Sanchez for Romero

As Cristian Romero only returned from an adductor issue recently and has started the last two games, Conte could choose to rest the Argentina international if he wants to rotate his side. He has an able deputy in Davinson Sanchez to come in and the Colombian certainly didn't let anyone down in the games he started last month.

Davies for Lenglet

One change that is likely to happen is Ben Davies coming back into the side in place of Clement Lenglet. The Welshman has dropped down to the bench in the past two games but he did come on and make a telling contribution vs Marseille with a late block.

As there was no fixture last weekend with the Man City game postponed, it wouldn't be a surprise at all to see Davies reinstated to the Spurs team.

Doherty for Emerson

Emerson Royal has been an ever-present in the Tottenham team this season and he will be looking to keep it that way in Lisbon on Tuesday evening. Matt Doherty has had to do with limited game time as a result and it is now down to Conte to decide when the time is right to rest the Brazilian and bring the ex-Wolves man back in.

It could be at Estadio Jose Alvalade later this evening or potentially a bit further down the line.

Bissouma for Bentancur

Yves Bissouma will be dreaming of a Champions League start after making his debut in the competition in the final few minutes of the Marseille win. The Mali international has only started one game for Spurs since his summer move to the club and has mainly had to do with appearances off the bench so far.

Clearly seeing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur as his preferred midfield two at present, it may be the latter who drops out if Conte believes it is time to hand Bissouma another start.

Sessegnon for Perisic

Conte has rotated his left wing-backs frequently this season and he could choose to do so again against Sporting. Both have contributed to the team so far this campaign with Ivan Perisic registering three assists and Ryan Sessegnon chipping in with a goal on the opening day against Southampton.

If there isn't set to be a change on Tuesday evening, it will then more than likely be on Saturday against Leicester when the alteration takes place.

Kulusevski for Son

Dejan Kulusevski will be desperate to return to the Tottenham XI after taking his place on the bench against Fulham and Marseille. He made a notable difference against the latter following his introduction and it is the time to bring him back in from the off.

The question Conte must answer is who makes way for the Swede in the process. You would have to see Richarlison dropping out as unlikely after his heroics last Tuesday night, thus meaning Son Heung-min could be the one given a breather after his recent struggles.

Son is going to miss out on selection at some point over the coming weeks, and this could be the game where he watches on from the sidelines to begin with.
