On August 20, 2026, KTM North America issued a safety recall for several years and models of GasGas and Husqvarna off-road motorcycles. The problem relates to a faulty rear brake caliper unit on the affected bikes, which could unexpectedly crack or break in use. This could, in turn, greatly increase the risk of an injury or death because of the crash hazard it poses.
For this reason, the official safety recall notice issued through the US Consumer Protection Safety Commission, in conjunction with Transport Canada, advises riders to immediately stop riding the recalled motorcycles immediately until they can schedule a free recall repair service with their local authorized GasGas or Husqvarna Motorcycles dealer. The recall was issued on August 20, 2026; at the time of the recall announcement, no injuries had been reported.
In the US, around 21,040 GasGas and Husqvarna motorcycles are included in this recall. Additionally, around 4,140 were sold in Canada. The list of models and years is long, so I'll put it in a table for easier reference.
Here are the makes, models, and model years of the bikes affected by this recall in the US and Canada. Please note that this list is long, so be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom to see every year, make, and model included.
