KSI and Tommy Fury agree last-minute deal to ensure grudge fight goes ahead

KSI vs Tommy Fury is "very close" to being made official after the pair agreed a weight for their fight.

The YouTube boxer has been negotiating a fight against Fury in Manchester since knocking out Joe Fournier in May, a win which was later overturned to a no-decision because of an illegal elbow. Fury got in the ring and faced off with KSI after the fight as the pair had to be separated by security.

Fury was refusing to fight at 180lb as he called for the clash to be changed to 185lb, with KSI agreeing to the weight change only if a rehydration clause was added to the contract. KSI gave his rival until Monday evening to sign his side of the contract and the YouTuber's promoter Kalle Sauerland has now given a positive update on the fight.

"CONFIRMED: weights agreed today for KSI v Tommy Fury... very close now," his tweet read. Fury's refusal to fight at 180lb does come as a surprise given the Love Island star has weighed in under that mark for several of his professional fights. KSI's bitter rival Jake Paul also mocked him for not wanting to fight at 185lb given the Brit weighed in at 193lb for his rematch against Logan Paul in 2018.

KSI hit out at Fury by branding him "delusional" for the weight demand, stating on his YouTube channel: “You’re disrespecting me and that’s p****ng me off. I’m tired of this back and forth with your stupid a** team. I know you’re not going to get this type of money anywhere else. Remember, you need me and I definitely don’t need you.”

Fury responded to KSI's comments by saying: "Here we go again guys, KSI going on about how it’s my fault the contract hasn’t been signed yet. Just a few things to clear up, KSI has only just agreed to do drug testing for this fight and now he’s complaining about the weight." The brother of heavyweight champion Tyson also called out Jake for a rematch if he is unable to secure a fight against KSI.

Jake is scheduled to fight UFC legend Nate Diaz in his first fight since being beaten by Fury earlier this year. 'The Problem Child' welcomed Fury's offer for a second fight, stating: “Tommy as my son I’m disappointed in you, I made you a millionaire and you haven’t said thank you. In a split decision you barely beat me. I’m coming for you Tommy. You better be ready, I’m coming.”
