Kristjaan Speakman is confident Manchester United will let Amad stay at Sunderland until the end of the season. Forward Amad is on a season-long loan deal with the Black Cats, but the Red Devils have the option to recall him this month and it would be a major blow for the Wearsiders if they were to lose the 20-year-old Ivory Coast international.
But Sunderland sporting director Speakman says there have been no indications from Old Trafford that they are considering such a move, and instead he says the feedback he has received is that they are very happy with the way Amad's loan spell is progressing which suggests they will let him stay for the remainder of the campaign. Speakman said: "Manchester United have an option to recall him up until a certain date, all the feedback that we've had from them so far is that they're delighted with how it's gone, how we've treated him and how he's performed.
"Obviously he's come off the back of a loan [at Rangers] that I think is generally accepted as having not been as successful. I'm sure Manchester United fully respect the fact that it's a really good, sweet spot he's in at the minute.

"Everything at the minute is fully geared up towards him staying here for the rest of the season."
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag also recently spoke about Amad, and he too hinted that the plan was to leave Amad to see the season out with Sunderland. He said: "We consider everything to strengthen the team but I have a little bit of reservation about that [recalling Amad] because I don't want to stop the process.
"He has made really good progress there [at Sunderland] so I'm happy with that. But young players need experiences and when we decide for him to come back, he has to be a player who can compete for the starting XI or minimum to come on for a lot of games and make an impact."
Amad has scored six goals in 19 appearances for the Black Cats so far this season.
