Kristen Stewart and Oscar Isaac are teaming up for a new vampire thriller titled Flesh of the Gods, directed by Panos Cosmatos, known for his work on the 2018 horror film Mandy. The film is being produced by Adam McKay's Hyperobject Industries and Isaac's Mad Gene Media. The screenplay, penned by Andrew Kevin Walker, is set in 1980s Los Angeles and follows a married couple, Raoul (Isaac) and Alex (Stewart), as they navigate a surreal world of hedonism and violence.
The story revolves around the couple's encounters with a mysterious woman and her partying group, leading them into a glamorous yet dark underworld. Cosmatos described the film as existing in the space between fantasy and nightmare, promising a thrilling and hypnotic experience for viewers.
The producers aim to start filming later this year, with a vision to create a movie that resonates across various cultural spheres, including fashion, music, and film. Isaac, along with his wife Elvira Lind, founded Mad Gene Media in 2019, with their debut project The Letter Room earning an Academy Award nomination.
The film is set to be a unique blend of commercial appeal and artistic depth, promising to take audiences on a wild ride through the glitzy yet sinister landscape of 1980s Los Angeles.
