Kristaps Porzingis reportedly healthy, taking part in scrimmages with the Boston Celtics

If the Boston Celtics are going to compete with the new-look Milwaukee Bucks, they will need a healthy Kristaps Porzingis to do it, and the Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach reports that the Latvian big man “took part in his first scrimmage Wednesday since being shut down due to his foot injury.”

“He looked good and had no issues,” added Himmelsbach. This echoes what we recently heard from fellow Globe reporter Gary Washburn, who wrote that he had been told by Boston team president Brad Stevens that “his team is completely healthy going into training camp,” including Porzingis, on Tuesday. “Everybody’s in Boston, everybody’s healthy, knock on wood,” said Stevens.

“If everybody gets through the rest of the week, we should be full next Tuesday when we start practice,” he added. “We’re excited about that.”

“Kristaps has been running up and down the court the last few days,” related the Celtics president. “I thought the progression that his trainers there [in Latvia], our trainers here, and everybody came up with to get him back so that he could avoid anything lingering was a key.”

“He feels great. I just literally talked to him on the phone on my way here. He said he feels good.”
