MOHALI: Davinder Gill and Krispy Khaira are again in police files for duping people aspiring to go abroad of Rs 77 lakh. An immigration company, School of International Study Immigration, run by Krispy Khaira, is involved in the case. The case was registered on the complaint of Jyoti Anant Kaur, a resident of Sector-23 D, Chandigarh.
The couple came into the limelight in 2014 after a dispute with IG Gautam Cheema, against whom several cases of fraud worth crores were registered in different police stations of Mohali. Many cases are still pending in the EO wing. Recently, a new case of fraud worth crores was also been registered against Davinder Gill in Chandigarh. Sub-inspector Pritpal Singh, posted in Phase-1 police station, said that a new case of cheating of Rs 77.89 lakh had been registered against Davinder Gill, Krispy Khaira and another person, Ramneet Singh Randhawa in Phase-1 police station.
The case was registered under sections 420, 406, 120B of the IPC and Section (13) of Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act 2014. At present, all the accused are said to be at large. The complainant had to file a complaint twice to get the case registered. Jyoti Anant Kaur said that she had lodged the first complaint against the accused on October 6, 2021 but police did not take action allegedly due to money and influence. She said she lodged the second complaint with the SSP Mohali on December 27, 2021.
Jyoti said that she and her colleagues approached the School of International Study Immigration Company to go abroad. Managers of the said company, Davinder Gill and Krispy Khaira demanded Rs 77.89 lakh to send them abroad. tnn
