Krishi Thapanda Breaks Silence on Friend Vaishak's Death, Urges Public to Stop Speculation

In a note dated June 28, Krishi revealed that she never imagined having to make a public statement during such a painful time. She explained that the constant speculation surrounding the incident and repeated demands for a reaction from her, her friends, and their families left her with little choice.

"I have neither the energy nor the mental strength to write this or even put this out into the world. The last thing I wanted to do during a time like this was make a public statement," she wrote. "But I find myself doing so because of the immense pressure, constant speculation, and repeated questions directed at me, my friends, and our families. At a time when we are simply trying to survive an unimaginable loss, we are being expected to explain it."

The actor described Vaishak as someone who was deeply important in her life, remembering him as a person who always stood by her with kindness and unwavering support. She said his passing has left a void that words cannot express.

"The past few days have changed my life in ways I never imagined. With everything that has happened, I have also lost someone who was very close to my heart—someone who stood by me, protected me, and cared for me with nothing but a kind heart. Losing him has left a void that words cannot describe. I don't know if I will ever truly come to terms with this loss," she wrote.

Krishi also shared that she has been carrying emotional pain for a long time and is now coping with yet another devastating loss. She said the constant rumours and assumptions surrounding the tragedy have made it even more difficult for those mourning Vaishak.

"I haven't even had the time or space to grieve. Instead, while his family, friends, and loved ones are trying to cope with an unimaginable loss, there have been constant speculations, assumptions, and attempts to turn someone's death into a story," she added.

Expressing disappointment over the public response, Krishi said that instead of people asking about her well-being, many have demanded an explanation or reaction to the incident. She stressed that no one experiencing grief should be forced to justify their emotions. At the same time, she thanked those who reached out with prayers and support, assuring fans that she is surrounded by close friends during this difficult period.

In her appeal, the actor urged everyone to respect the privacy of Vaishak's family and loved ones, reminding the public that grief and mental health are deeply fragile.

"There is a family that has lost a son. There are friends who have lost someone they loved beyond words. There are people trying to survive this grief one moment at a time. Please allow us the dignity and privacy to mourn him in peace. Mental health is fragile. Grief is fragile," she wrote.

Ending her message with an emotional plea, Krishi asked people to choose compassion over speculation.

"If there is one thing I have always believed, it is this: If you cannot make someone smile, at least don't become the reason for their tears. If you cannot give someone a reason to live, at least don't become the reason they lose hope. With folded hands, I request everyone to let him rest in peace, and to let his family, his friends, and all of us grieve in peace. Please choose kindness. I'm begging you to stop."

According to police, 45-year-old Vaishak allegedly died by suicide at Krishi Thapanda's Bengaluru apartment on Wednesday night. Investigators said he had reportedly been battling depression, and no suicide note was recovered from the scene. Police stated that Vaishak had called Krishi before the incident and informed her of his intention to end his life. She immediately alerted his family, who rushed to the apartment but found him dead.

Krishi Thapanda made her Sandalwood debut with the 2016 film *Akira* and has since appeared in films including *Eradu Kanasu* and *Kannadakkaagi Ondannu Otti*. She also participated in *Bigg Boss Kannada Season 5*, hosted by Kichcha Sudeep. Most recently, she was seen in the 2025 film *Gana*, alongside Prajwal Devaraj, Vedhika Kumar, and Yasha Shivakumar.
