As Kourtney Kardashian prepared to marry Travis Barker, in Portofino, Italy, Kris Jenner shared with her daughter a touching tribute from her wedding to her four eldest children's father Robert Kardashian.
In the new Hulu special, 'Till Death Do Us Part Kourtney & Travis, Kourtney tells her younger sister Khloe Kardashian that their momager gave her a ring on the day of her rehearsal dinner.
"Wait, look, Mom just gave me her ring that was from Dad," Kourtney shows her sister before clarifying that it was Kris' wedding ring from her marriage to the late Robert Kardashian.
Kourtney shares how much the gesture means to her as she explains her father's death in 2003 made her never want to tie the knot.
"When my dad died, I remember thinking, 'I never want to get married because my dad isn't there to walk me down the aisle,'" Kourtney said. "So that gift meant so much."
Speaking about the gesture, Travis added: "It was amazing."
Kris married Robert in 1978 before subsequently divorcing in 1991. They shared daughters Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe, and son Rob.
During the Hulu wedding special, Kourtney opened up on her late father as the looked forward to her marriage with her future husband.
"My dad would have loved Travis, and Travis reminds me so much of my dad in the weirdest ways," she said. "I can't even explain them. I felt his presence, and I think I felt just like a sense of calm."
During his speech at the couple's reception, the Blink-182 drummer paid a sweet tribute to his new wife's late father.
"Robert, I know you're here in spirit and so proud," the groom remarked.
Meanwhile, Kourtney recently shared a "chilling" detail about her wedding dress as she discussed planning the gown before the couple had decided their nuptials would take place in Portofino.
On Instagram, she wrote: "One year ago, we had our first in-person meeting with @dolcegabbana to start the design process of my wedding dress!! The first inspiration for my dress was when Travis and I were watching Guns N’ Roses November Rain video one night before we were even engaged, and we said to each other “this has to be our wedding.” She was wearing a short dress and I thought to myself “I need a short dress!” I had more visions inspired by some 1990s campaigns of Monica Bellucci shot by Helmut Newton for Blumarine.
"When we knew our wedding was going to be in Portofino, it also influenced the vibes and feeling of the dress. I also just wanted to feel like we ran off to Italy and got married and wanted the dress and wedding to feel that way! When @dolcegabbana suggested putting Travis’s head tattoo of the Virgin Mary on the handmade lace veil with the words from his tattoo: family, loyalty, respect underneath, I got chills and knew how special that felt. (And my little mini veil I wore to dinner).
"This was all planned and made into my dream come true all so so quickly and I’m so grateful to everyone who put their all into making it all happen!"
