Kris Boyd has urged Rangers to focus on quality over quantity in their remaining transfer deals.
The ex-Ibrox striker believes the club should target players who can make an immediate impact in the starting XI, particularly on the wings and at right-back.
Boyd said: "There are still gaps in Rangers’ squad that need filling. The chairman, Andrew Cavenagh, came out and said they’re looking at between three and five signings. [LiveFootballTickets]
"For me, it has to be three or five signings that go into the starting lineup."
Boyd believes the squad is currently too large, with many players being left out on match days. He sees this as evidence that the club should focus on strengthening the starting 11.
Rangers are reportedly close to a £7million deal for PSV Eindhoven winger Couhaib Driouech. The Morocco international is expected to bring speed and creativity to the team.
Despite this, Boyd sees a lack of creativity in the final third as a major issue. He said: "There is no doubt that the wide area is a problem for Rangers.

"The creativity at the top end of the pitch is something that Rangers are severely lacking in right now."
Right-back is another area of concern since James Tavernier's departure. Dujon Sterling and Ross McCrorie are available, but Boyd feels another specialist is needed, especially given Sterling's injury history.
He added: "James Tavernier has moved on, Dujon Sterling is a good player, but he can't play every single game with his injury history, so Ross McCrorie came in.
"It may take time for these guys to settle, but for me, I think Rangers need to find a right back."
Aston Villa's Kosta Nedeljkovic is one of the players linked with Rangers.
Boyd said: "They've been linked to Kosta Nedeljkovic from Aston Villa, so there is no doubt they're in the market for a right back."
