Krazy Races soapbox derby event moves to new Swansea city centre location as organisers expect huge crowds

A soapbox race which will see weird and wonderful carts hurtle down the roads of Swansea later this year has been moved to a larger course as organisers say more than 15,000 people are expected to attend. Krazy Races which comes to the city on Sunday, June 18, will now move to the centre of the city with racing going past Swansea Castle with spectators gathering in and around Castle Square.

The free to attend event will see amateurs in wacky costumes riding hand-made vehicles without a motor and racing to see who is fastest. The race will be the first of its kind to be held in Swansea and the first Krazy Races event in Wales.

Teams will make their soapboxes themselves, dress up and perform for the judges and race their creation down the track in the hope of taking home a trophy. You can read more stories about Swansea here.
