Komoot partners with Trash Free Trails for their Earth Day Spring Clean

The Trash Free Trails cycling jersey

With almost weekly announcements from the most popular cycling apps in the battle to be the best cycling app. Fresh off their announcement on one-click integration route planning with Garmin, Komoot has now partnered up with Trash Free Trails to mark Earth Day on 22nd April with an Earth Day Spring Clean.

They’re collaborating to encourage mountain bike riders, runners, and hikers to remove single-use pollution from their local trails and wild places, or to join one of their two flagship TFT Spring Clean events. Participants can plan and record their Spring Clean Tours using Komoot, and tag the official Trash Free Trails Komoot profile to help spread the word and share their own ‘State of Our Trails’ insights.

Trash Free Trails will host two Earth Day Spring Clean events, taking place in Wales’ Eryri National Park (formerly known as Snowdonia) and Thetford (Suffolk) on April 22nd. The two Trash Free Trail events will offer a range of trail-clean routes and activities, from family-friendly hikes to some of the best mountain bike rides in the areas.

For those that can’t attend the events, TFT suggests riders, runners, and roamers bring their community together and host their own spring cleans. All they have to do is plan their Tour on Komoot which allows users to add all important information, including a meeting point and time etc. The Tours will also then be added to the Earth Day Spring Clean Komoot Collection, where people can register their interest and join locally.

We recently had an exclusive look at the new Trash Free Trails cycling jersey being made by Scottish brand Endura, who fully support the events, the jersey will be available soon at TFT to show support and promote the benefits of TFT.

Founder of TFT, Dom Ferris spoke more on the Earth Day events, "Whether you’re riding, running or roaming, we’d love to see where you’ve been and how much litter you’ve collected. Don’t forget to take photos of the litter and tag us on Instagram and Komoot, where you can share your action with the hashtag #EarthDaySpringClean."
