Kolo Toure details how he would stop Man City star Kevin De Bruyne

Kolo Toure believes no one player can stop Kevin De Bruyne working his Manchester City magic, with the Belgian always finding solutions.

De Bruyne has been in scintillating form of late, with a goal and two assists in his last three appearances not doing justice to the midfielder's influence. The most recent assist against Southampton took the 31-year-old to 50 Premier League assists, the fastest player to do so in the league's history.

After being told by Pep Guardiola to return to basics, De Bruyne has been one of City's outstanding players in their hunt for Premier League and Champions League glory. The Belgian lined up for Saturday's Premier League visit of Leicester City to the Etihad, with former Blues defender Toure asked how to stop him.

"The problem is players like Kevin de Bruyne can always find solutions," Toure told Sky Sports. "He’s technically very good, he can drive with the ball, it’s quite hard to stop that kind of player. You have to do it as a team, I believe, one player can’t stop him. You need to make sure you always have two or three players around him because he’s a guy who can find a pass in the space very easily."

With a place in the FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United and one foot in the Champions League semi-finals - they are 3-0 up against Bayern Munich ahead of next week's return leg - Guardiola's side are still in the hunt for a brilliant treble. And Jamie Redknapp believes that with the likes of De Bruyne and Erling Haaland on current form. nothing is out of the question.

"They’re flying," Redknapp said. "Before that great run there were worries about the team like Kevin de Bruyne was in and out. Right now they are full-throttle, they look magnificent. Tactical changes worked for them, like bringing Stones into that midfield, and they look as good as ever. They are just purring and Haaland and de Bruyne are just so good as well at the moment."
