KOLKATA: Iskcon devotees from Russia and Ukraine will flag off the Ulta Rathayatra on Saturday that will set off from the Territorial Army Institute ground in the Maidan, where the three chariots of Jagannath, Baldev and Subhadra are parked since July 1.
“Devotees from 150 countries including Russians and Ukranians have been in Kolkata for Rath. They have been doing kirtan and drama and cooking various cuisines for Lord Jagannath. While many have come from all over the world, some live in Mayapur and have come over from there. Despite the current geo-political situation and the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, it has not impacted relations between devotees of the two countries. They are unaffected by material conditions in the world. Their joining hands to flag off the Ulta Rathayatra sends a message of brotherhood and peace,”said Iskcon vice-president Radharamn Das.
