Kolkata: Number of children hit by dengue doubles in 2 weeks

KOLKATA: The number of children affected by dengue has doubled in a span of about two weeks. When hospitals across the city started getting these children from August onwards, the count was only a handful.

So far there are only two dengue deaths among children in Kolkata. Given the current spike, the health department has kept 25 dengue beds reserved at the state-run Dr BC Roy Post Graduate Institute of Paediatric Sciences (DBCRPGIPS).
