Kolkata: Arms dealer held with 4 guns, 40 cartridges

KOLKATA: The Special Task Force of Kolkata Police has caught an arms dealer, who was carrying illegal single-shot firearms and 40 rounds of ammunition. Accused Samir Kumar Pattanaik (54) from Danton in West Midnapore was arrested from near Howrah Bridge around 1.20pm on Tuesday.

"An STF team intercepted the arms dealer from a ghat near Howrah Bridge under the North Port police station. Four single-shot improvised firearms and 40 8mm live cartridges were seized from him. A case under Section 25(1B)(a) of Arms Act has been initiated," said joint CP (STF) Solomon Nesakumar.
