KOLKATA: Debashish Bhattacharya, CMD of Disha Eye Hospitals, founded the eye care facility in 1997, beginning a tradition of philanthropy that continues today.
"As a doctor, I believe we must take care of those who cannot pay for their own healthcare. And, we have been doing so with help from the foundation of Disha Eye Hospitals for 25 years," Bhattacharya said. He has served at the national level as the president of the All-India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS 2015-16)-as editor, proceedings, from 2005 to 2010, and as the chairman of the ethics committee from 2010 to 2011.
