Kolkata: 35-year-old dies of electrocution in bid to flee blaze

KOLKATA: A 35-year-old, who used to run a roadside eatery in Tangra, was electrocuted on Tuesday while trying to escape from his shop, where a fire had broken out. According to police and fire officials, the heat from the fire had melted the insulation of some of the electrical wires in Banti Haldar's shop, which came in contact with the shop's metal gate and electrified it. Haldar got electrocuted as he tried to open the gate and flee. He was declared dead in hospital.
