KOLHAPUR: The Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) has decided to operate auto-tipper vehicles, that collect solid waste, till midnight every day to ensure that waste is not thrown in open spaces and drains.
The heavy showers last week caused flooding in several parts of the city, mainly as the stormwater drains were choked with solid waste dumped along the roadside and in the drains. The nullahs were overflowing and the road stretches were submerged. It caused a huge inconvenience to citizens.
