Kobbie Mainoo will be able to join up with the Manchester United squad for pre-season after England under-19s failed to qualify for this summer's European Championships.
Mainoo had been involved with the under-19 setup during the international break, featuring in all three of their qualifiers including 88 minutes in a 2-0 win over Turkey on Tuesday evening. The 17-year-old has been on the fringes of first-team action at United, making his debut in the Carabao Cup win over Charlton in January.
His involvement with England was expected to carry through to the summer and the 2023 European Championships in Malta this summer, however the Young Lions' failure to top their group - they finished one point behind Iceland - means they won't be involved in the eight-team finals.

Fortunately for United, that means the teenager will be available for this summer's trip to the United States for pre-season, having missed out on the tournament that is due to take place between July 3 and July 16.
The exact dates of United's tour across the pond is yet to be released, but last season's tour of Australia saw them fly out in early July.
The club have confirmed the date of one friendly, where they will face non-league Wrexham in San Diego on July 25 - a fixture the Reds will almost certainly use to test their youngsters.
Mainoo looks set to become one of the teenagers to break through into first-team action imminently, his January debut followed by two substitute appearances in the Premier League and FA Cup.
His likely presence in the European Championships will have forced his omission from at least part of the pre-season tour, with Erik ten Hag now ake to fully assess the midfielder ahead of next season and the hope of more consistent minutes.
