Knights snap losing streak with romp over Capitals

LAS VEGAS — Rookie left wing Paul Cotter scored twice, and the Las Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Washington Capitals 6-2 on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena to snap a three-game losing streak.

Centers Nicolas Roy and Bryon Froese, right wing Alec Martinez and right wing Michael Amadio also scored for the Knights, who finished their seven-game homestand 3-4. They won their fifth straight game against the Capitals.

Washington got goals from right wing T.J. Oshie and left wing Marcus Johansson. The Capitals played without leading scorer Alex Ovechkin, who was out with a lower-body injury.
