Klay Thompson says Warriors are ‘hoping for the best’ for Bills safety Damar Hamlin

Klay Thompson led the Warriors to a thrilling double-overtime win on Monday night, scoring a season-high 54 points in the victory.

After the game his immediate thoughts were on the well-being of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin.

Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field, and as of early Tuesday morning he is in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Before talking about basketball in his press conference on Monday, Thompson wished Hamlin well on behalf of the Warriors’ organization.

“As athletes, sometimes the game can overshadow us as individuals or people. On behalf of the Warriors organization, we just wish him the best, keeping him in our prayers and hoping for the best possible outcome. Just a tremendous person, and it’s bigger than sports.”
