Klay Thompson believes Steph Curry willed the Golden State Warriors to victory in their game against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday (Dec. 16.) Curry ended the game with 37 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assists, and 3 blocks, shooting 63.6% from the field and 75% from 3-point range.
When speaking to the media after the game, Thompson discussed his superstar teammates’ performance, sharing how he believed Curry’s performance was special. However, Thompson did note that he hopes the rest of the roster can up their production when the Warriors face the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday (Dec. 17) which will be the second night of a back-to-back.
“He willed us to victory,” Thompson said. “We appreciate him. Tomorrow, I hope we can help shoulder the load a little more. He was special tonight. Just his ability to create shots and make shots from all over the floor. At the rim, the mid-range, and from 35 feet, is probably something we’ll never see again in the league. I am grateful for Steph’s performance tonight. It put us over the edge.”
Curry has been the Warriors’ most consistent player throughout the first quarter of the season. He’s been playing at close to an MVP level since opening night and will likely continue to impact games at an elite level moving forward.

The Warriors have seemed to be more engaged following Steve Kerr‘s alterations to the rotation. Thompson has now strung together two impressive performances. If Golden State can secure a win against the Trail Blazers on Sunday, it will go a long way to injecting some confidence into the roster and helping them get back on track.
