NEW DELHI: Jonny Bairstow illuminated the Kolkata night with a magnificent century as Punjab Kings achieved a world record chase of 262 against a bewildered Kolkata Knight Riders in an IPL match on Friday.

On a humid evening in a dry Kolkata, Punjab Kings' batters unleashed a barrage of sixes—24 in total—as they chased down the target of 262 in just 18.4 overs. Bairstow's unbeaten 108 off 48 balls was bolstered by Shashank Singh's undefeated 68 off 28 balls and Prabhsimran Singh's explosive 54 off just 20 balls.
