Though less than than 10 years old, Kitri has established a loyal fashion fan base thanks to its playful prints, fresh silhouettes and quality pieces at mid-range prices. But, despite its devoted following, the label has just announced its closure.
In an Instagram post, Kitri’s founder, Haeni Kim, wrote: “This decision has not come easily. We explored every possible avenue, but ultimately this felt like the only responsible path forward. Building KITRI has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. What started as a small independent brand grew into something far bigger than I could have ever imagined – worn and loved by women around the world, supported by an incredible community, and brought to life by an immensely talented team.”
While the news might come as a surprise for the brand’s fans, surging operational costs and shifting consumer habits has created a nightmarish landscape for fashion brands. In 2025, more than 11,000 independent shops closed their doors in the UK, while giant chains like Claire’s have also ceased trading.
Though stocked at the likes of M&S and Liberty, it appears Kitri still couldn’t keep up with the volatile market. I, for one, will mourn the label – it’s been my go-to for everything from wedding guest dresses and statement outerwear (think that shearling trim patent leather trench) and statement knitwear.
Founded in 2017 by South Korea-born Haeni Kim, Kitri was born out of her frustration at not being able to find hero pieces at affordable prices. Whether it’s a feather-adorned party frock or a polka dot halter neck, the brand is particularly beloved for its occasion wear. From a blue swing dress I wore to a wedding in Lisbon to a brown blazer and a black halter neck dress, I can attest to the quality and timeless appeal, particularly the summer dresses, which I dig out of storage each year without fail.

Its latest drops is one of my favourites yet. The linen capris with a ruffled hem and matching lace trim cami top have gone straight to the top of my wishlist, while a drop waist yellow maxi dress is perfect for an upcoming Tuscany wedding.
Ahead of officially closing its doors, Kitri has announced a clearance sale with up to 70 per cent off. Whether you’re packing for a spring city break, planning your outfits for a summer holiday or have a nuptials in the calendar, I’ve rounded up my favourite pieces from Kitri’s final collection. But you need to act fast, as sizes won’t be in stock for long.
