Kirsty Young has delighted fans this Platinum Jubilee weekend as she has returned to screens for first time in four years as part of the BBC coverage. She returned to the BBC this morning ahead of Trooping the Colour which kicked off the celebrations.
Kirsty, 53, was forced to take a break from her job back in 2018. She has just opened up for the first time about her life debilitating illness fibromyalgia.

Kirsty will be hosting the majority of the BBC coverage of the once in a lifetime event. The BBC is the main focus for the events that are taking place over the weekend.
They have coverage of all of the main events taking place in London over the weekend. After covering Trooping the Colour this morning (June 2) they have live coverage of the lighting of the Platinum Jubilee beacons later tonight.
Over the weekend they are also showing the service of thanksgiving live from St Paul's Cathedral on Saturday where it is expected that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be in attendance, although it is not clear if the Queen will. On Saturday evening, they also have the Platinum Party at the Palace which will be broadcast live from outside of the Buckingham Palace.
Finally their coverage will end with the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Pageant on Sunday afternoon. That is a parade that will stretch 3km and go through the centre of London before one final balcony appearance from some of the royals.
