Kirstie Allsopp left people confused after revealing she managed to swallow one of her AirPods over the weekend. The Location, Location, Location star said she made the mistake while taking her vitamins, which she had in her pocket with her earphones.
But the TV presenter, who avoided an emergency dash to hospital by throwing up the AirPod, was subjected to abuse on social media after sharing her mishap. She tweeted: "In other news I just swallowed an AirPod while downing my vitamins, I don’t recommend it. I’ve managed to chuck it back up without having to go to hospital, but my throat is really quite sore."
As Twitter users reacted with disbelief @truthiness2010 told her: "I think a video showing one of these going down the hatch could put this matter to bed entirely." And she replied: "Never again! Getting it, back up was agony and I’ve burst some little blood vessels around my eyes."

Sharing a photo of the ingested listening device with a pile of vitamin tablets she said: "See, not quite as daft as some might say." And @GeeBee2166 reassured her: "You didn't need to prove it really. It was too daft to make up!"
Asked if it still worked she said: "Don’t know yet, but it still smells of sick and I’m not sure about putting it in my ear. Way too much information I know."
@OiRehBhaiii asked her: "So confused. If this is true, why do you have an Airpod in your mouth???" And Kirstie explained: "I put my vitamins in my pocket while getting a glass of water. Got vitamins out pocket, gulped them down…"
@altgazza told her: "YEH ALL RIGHT PULL THE OTHER ONE. NEXT MINUTE YOULL BE TELLING US YOU ACCIDENTLY MICROWAVED BOTH YOUR TRAINERS FOR DINNER."
Yesterday Kirstie addressed 'horrible comments' she had received about her mishap. "I did something daft, which also served as a warning. Yesterday I got some lovely humorous replies. Today Twitter has gone insane with really horrible comments," she wrote.
She added: "It’s quite staggering how unpleasant people can be while telling you they have compassionate political leanings." Kirstie also responded to one comment: "Can’t really get my head around the 'you’re lying' crowd. It would be such a bizarre lie."
And today she clapped back: "I’ll say it again, I did something totally daft which cracked me up, I shared it because it was really funny & we all need a laugh."
Kirstie added: "Anyone who thinks this is an excuse for abuse is a pathetic t*****, and their response says far more about them than it does about me." And on a happy note she reassured fans that the earphone survived. "Morning All, Guess what? They still work!" she cheered.
