Kirstie Allsopp fumes over reaction to Meg Ryan's appearance after rare public outing

Kirstie Allsopp fumed over the "remorseless" reaction to Meg Ryan's looks after she made a rare public appearance.

Meg, 61, recently supported pal Michael J Fox ahead of his new documentary which focuses on his battle with Parkinson's disease.

The Sleepless in Seattle star took a step back from the limelight in recent years but showed up to the event to support her friend.

After fans and media outlets said Meg looked "unrecognisable", Kirstie took to Twitter to call them out.

She tweeted: "It’s called ageing you remorseless f**kers, and it’s articles like this which push women in the public eye to extremes.

"This kind of thing boils my blood!!"

Fans were agreeing with Kirstie and took to the comment section to criticise the "misogynistic" description.

One said: “Everyone ages. Please stop this."

Another used posted: “You’re comparing a photo from 30 years ago to now… I don’t know anyone who still looks 30 when they’re 60. Give her a break. She looks great.”

"Everyone else in the photograph this is lifted from look much older than their heydays. That’s life," another pointed out.

It comes as Meg was snapped posing alongside Michael as she rocked a black silk blazer and a red embroidered buttoned vest over a white t-shirt.

She was all smiles as she leaned into the actor, who had opted for a black t-shirt and suit jacket combo along with black jeans and black Adidas trainers.

While some online shared derogatory comments regarding Meg's latest look, she previously revealed she paid no attention to the trolls.

Speaking to Porter Magazine back in 2015, the Hollywood actress discussed her plastic surgery rumours.

"I don’t pay a lot of attention, frankly," she said. "There's a lot of hatred in the world today. It's so easy to judge. Imagine being a hater, how stupid.

"My women friends are not sitting around talking about… well, sometimes there are conversations like that, but the people I value talk about kids growing up, what kind of world they are going into, what we are eating, what we are breathing."
