Kirkcudbright Solway Hoard exhibition to take visitors into the future

A new exhibition in Kirkcudbright will take visitors into the future.

The Solway Hoard display will be set in the year 3023, when marine engineers have uncovered a hoard of plastic artefacts from the coasts.

Archaeologists will piece together the stories that explore their origins and help understand key moments from the past 1,000 years.

The Museums of the FutureNow exhibition for Solway Firth Partnership will show an imagined future where plastic isn’t a cheap and disposable pollutant but has new uses.

The display has been inspired by the Galloway Hoard, which was also on display at Kirkcudbright Galleries.

The Solway Hoard exhibition will run from March 25 to April 16. It is part of the Positive Action for a Cleaner Solway project.
