A wicker horse is heading back to Kirkcudbright.
The structure used to take pride of place in the Artists’ Town.
And it has now been given a makeover by Auchencairn artist Trevor Leat, who was responsible for the giant structures burnt at the end of the Wickerman Festival for many years.
Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities chairman, John Blaikie, said: “We actually had a burning a few years ago and burnt the wicker off, but it’s the same frame.
“I had wanted a unicorn but Trevor said the frame wasn’t set up for that, so it’s going to be a shire horse.
“It’s first public outing will be the country fair, although it’ll probably be at The Johnston before then, and it’ll be out at other events like the art and crafts trail.
“We’re happy to loan it out to people as well.”
Trevor is almost finished his work on the horse and there won’t be long to wait to see it, with Kirkcudbright Country Fair taking place on July 15 and 16.
