Kirkcudbright’s first ever Steampunk Weekend has been deemed a roaring success.
The town was packed on Saturday and Sunday as people put on costumes and enjoyed music, stalls, cabaret and much more.
The event was organised by Susi and Matt Francis from Borgue – who use the steampunk names Lady Susannah de Borgue and Captain Max Snoot – and was the first event of its kind in Scotland.
And they are now already making plans for another event on June 22 and 23 next year.
Susi said: “It was a success and I’ve learnt such a lot.
“It’s gone phenomenally well. I was amazed by the amount of enthusiasm for it.
“The stallholders were absolutely delighted – I asked them if they’d made enough to cover their costs and they more than had.
“Everyone loved Kirkcudbright, it’s just a great town.
“Thanks to all the people who contributed and turned up - and dressed up.
“I’m really indebted to so many people for the help and support they’ve given me.”
Part of the weekend was a window competition, with the team at Pure Beauty landing the honours.
