Kirkcudbright's Buckland Burnup back after coronavirus return

A popular Kirkcudbright race will make its physical return this weekend.

The Buckland Burn Up has been held virtually in recent years due to the coronavirus, with runners completing the route – or a five-mile course of their choosing – separately then logging their times.

But the challenging run is back for real on Saturday.

There is the option to run or walk the five-mile route with the race starting and finishing in Hope Dunbar Park and there is also a 1km junior race as well as a minis race.

There are no on the day entries this year but online entries can still be made until the end of Friday at www.entrycentral.com/bucklandburnup.

Race numbers can be collected between 9.30am and 10.30am from the gazebo in the park. The walkers will begin at 10.30am, the runners at 11am, the minis at 11.05am and juniors at 11.10am.
