Kirkcudbright caravan park sees profits soar after being taken on by the community

A community-run caravan park in Kirkcudbright has turned a significant profit.

The town’s development trust took on the running of Silvercraigs from the council in 2017 before being handed control of the site on a 25 year lease in 2019.

And the latest accounts show that the site turned a £79,000 profit in 2021 – well up on when it was run by the local authority.
