Kirk Cousins is having a pretty lousy week, but he still took the time to help some young Vikings fans make lifelong memories on Monday night.
Cousins tore his Achilles tendon in Sunday’s win over the Packers and will miss the rest of the season. But just 24 hours after the devastating injury, Cousins was back at the team facility for an event with the Vikings Kids Club, signing autographs for some young fans while using a scooter to get around.
A few fans posted photos on social media of Cousins’s kind gesture.
@KirkCousins8 my nephew met you tonight at the Halloween party. You could have stayed away, you could have said no to an autograph. No one would have blamed you after the day you have had. Thank you for showing him that despite all the bad you can rise above it. #Vikings pic.twitter.com/HtZp2mq9xZ

@Vikings @KevOC7 @PhilMackey @DustBaker Season over. 24 hours after the most devastating event of his career, OUR quarterback doesn’t sit home feeling sorry for himself. No, he attends the Kids Club Trick-Or-Treat Trail in Egan. That’s our QB. #Vikings pic.twitter.com/0KtQ87h3HH

Give Cousins credit for giving back to the community so quickly after his serious injury. It couldn’t have been easy for him just to get out of bed on Monday morning after such a painful injury, and yet he still went through the effort of going to the Kids Club event. Everyone would have understood if he skipped the event to get some rest, but he still showed up and gave the kids a night they’ll never forget.
