The Vikings improved their record to 2–4 after Week 6's 19–13 win over the Bears. After the game, quarterback Kirk Cousins credited an unusual source of inspiration in getting Minnesota prepared to play.
"Garrett Bradbury, in the locker room pregame, took a clip from the Texas Rangers and made sure that Creed got played before we went out on the field and I felt like that may have made the difference, so we got that going for us," Cousins told reporters, per Bring Me the Sports.
Cousins revealed that Creed's 1999 hit "Higher" was the tune that pumped up the Vikings before they took the field at Chicago, although there were many songs from which players could choose.

"They've got quite a catalog," Cousins added, via Inside the Vikings. "We started with 'Higher' this week. We didn't want to overstep our bounds. So just one 'Higher.' Next week, maybe we can see what we go to from there."
As Cousins mentioned, the Rangers credited rock music from Creed with helping fuel their postseason run that currently has them in the American League Championship Series. Rather than chuckle over a band that is generally perceived as not cool, Rangers fans embraced the music. Texas hasn't lost yet in the playoffs, sweeping their first two series.
To paraphrase Crash Davis in Bull Durham, a streak has to be respected. Can Creed lift the Vikings to a Monday night win over the 49ers in Week 7?
