Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Ladd McConkey did not play in Georgia’s 38-10 win against the Tennessee Volunteers. McConkey, who is Georgia’s top receiving target, has 26 receptions for 418 yards and two touchdowns this season.
McConkey has been very productive when able to play. Unfortunately, the junior receiver has missed significant action this season. McConkey missed several games to open the season due to a back issue.
Kirby Smart provided an injury update on Ladd McConkey after the Tennessee game.
Ladd got an ankle (injury) last week and he did not practice all week. He thought he would be able to go, and he was not really able to go. He tried. He got out there in warm ups and did some things. … It happened in the game against Ole Miss.
Georgia wide receiver Dillon Bell really stepped up with McConkey out of the game. Bell finished with five receptions for 90 yards, one receiving touchdown, and a passing touchdown on a trick play against Tennessee. Additionally, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint recorded seven catches for 91 yards and hauled in a pair of touchdowns.
Georgia has outstanding depth at wide receiver. Rara Thomas missed the Tennessee game with a foot injury. Georgia did not miss a beat with Thomas and McConkey out against Tennessee.
