Coming off just one season with the Mavericks, center JaVale McGee is signing with the Kings, per Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes.
The three-time NBA champion will join a Sacramento team that is coming off its first playoff bid since the 2005–06 season. Dallas waived McGee just two days ago. His contract with the Kings is unknown at this time.
The Kings’ current center, Domantas Sabonis, just signed a five-year extension worth up to $217 million back in July. McGee will join the lineup with Sabonis.
The 35-year-old veteran helped three different teams win national titles in 2017 (Warriors), ‘18 (Lakers) and ‘20 (Cavaliers). He was drafted back in 2008 by the Wizards.

Last season, McGee mostly played from the bench for the Mavericks, playing in 42 games with seven starts. He averaged 4.4 points and 2.5 rebounds.
McGee hasn’t started for the majority of a season since the 2019–20 season with the Lakers, during their championship year.
