Kings rookie Keegan Murray broke Donovan Mitchell’s record for the most three-pointers scored in an NBA player’s rookie season on Wednesday night when he notched his 188th of the season.
Murray etched his name into the history books in the third quarter of Wednesday night’s game vs. the Trail Blazers in Portland. The former Iowa standout couldn’t help but smile after he scored the record-breaking basket.
To add another impressive dimension to the feat, Murray reached the record with the highest percentage (40.7%) ever for a rookie with at least 400 three-point attempts.
Mitchell had held the record with 187 three-pointers since the 2017–18 season when he played for the Jazz.
