He's only exchanged text messages with Christian Petracca so far but incoming Melbourne coach Steven King intends to do his best to keep the Demons star at the club next AFL season.

Appointed as Simon Goodwin's replacement, King currently has his hands full as a Geelong assistant coach as they prepare to play Hawthorn in a preliminary final on Friday night.
